Ciudad Perdida (The Lost City): Nestled in the heart of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Ciudad Perdida is Colombia's "Machu Picchu." Built by the Tayrona people around 800 AD, this mystical city, composed of circular terraces and stone staircases, is only accessible after several days of trekking through lush jungle. It is a sacred place, a true symbol of the resilience and artisanal genius of pre-Columbian civilizations.

This is an expedition that requires good physical condition, as it can only be done on foot.

How to get there?

• Starting point: It all begins in the city of Santa Marta (on the Caribbean coast).
• The 4x4 journey: An agency picks you up for a journey of about 2.5 hours to the village of Mamey (also called Machete Pelao). This is the starting point of the trek.
• The Trekking (Mandatory): You cannot go alone. You must go through an authorized agency that provides the guide, meals, and accommodation in the jungle.
• Distance: Approximately 50 km round trip.
• Duration: Generally 4 days (sometimes 5 for a gentler pace).
